In our Transformation Diaries this week, we had an insightful chat with Neelam; a Complaint Handler at the Royal Bank of Scotland. Neelam enjoys lazy holidays in sunny countries with her husband, movies, food dates and long drives. Mexico, Thailand, St Lucia and Istanbul are amongst the most gorgeous and interesting places she has visited. Her holiday stories made us want to pack our sunscreen and flip flops to “ANY SUNNY LAND”!

“I’ve been suffering with stubborn adult acne on and off for 6 years. I never let it affect me, however I was coming to the point where I was always conscious about how bad it looked. I tried so many products, went to see different doctors and dermatologists… They recommended different treatments which worked only for short periods of time until the next major flare-up, or products that would dry my skin out.”

Neelam admits that at some point she felt so resigned and frustrated that she completely gave up on her skin. She did not know what to do with her face!

“I reached a point of no return! A lot of people do not understand the mental charge that skin issues can cause. My face was literally in pain and sometimes bruised due to minor breakouts. I was stressed, felt defeated specially around the time of my wedding a few years ago and I eventually embraced the fact that I was not going to have the smooth makeup look I dreamt of for my big special day. Through research about different types of acne, Neelam started noticing a pattern in winter when her skin would breakout and flare up.
