Nisha is another one of our international customers who took a break out of her exciting schedule to tell us about her travelling adventures, living with the PCOS syndrome and her BaseLift experience.

Currently living in Qatar and working as a flight attendant for Qatar Airways, Nisha is a 24-year-old young woman from India. She loves skincare, horror movies, cooking, travelling the world and is lucky to have a job she absolutely loves where she gets to explore a different part of the world every day.

“This is going to sound a bit crazy, but my favourite city out of all the ones I visited is Prague. I dreamt about it even before going there, and when I did get the chance to go to Prague, I had this weird but fascinating feeling of deja-vu like okay I have seen this somewhere. I dreamt about this place. I felt so connected to the city, the people, and the atmosphere! It was an amazing experience.”

Back in 2015, Nisha started suffering from hyperpigmentation, blemishes and breakouts on her forehead, her chin, her upper lips and chin.

“I thought it’s just a teenage hormonal breakout, it will go away. I only tried home-made remedies back then, but it never went away and got worse after a few months.”

Nisha knew something was off as she did not feel like herself. She did some Xrays, some blood tests and found out that she was suffering from blood clots near her ovary. After consulting with a gynaecologist, she was diagnosed with PCOS syndrome. PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition that affects how ovaries work. It is related to abnormal hormone levels in the body which can cause irregular periods, facial hair, and difficulty getting pregnant.

“I had no knowledge about the PCOS syndrome and after extensive research and talks with my gynaecologist I found out that I suffered from imbalanced hormones which could cause cysts, or blood clots. I had to completely change my lifestyle and diet to rebalance everything. That meant no more junk or oily food, lots of exercises. Cleansing and detoxing my body. I was being treated for a month and it helped my skin and health for a couple of months.”

A year after, Nisha started working as a flight attendant. When her skin got worse, she knew that something was wrong.

“Living with PCOS can be a frustrating process. You can be really careful and consistent over a long period, but then some of your symptom flare up and make you wonder what you did wrong. It is an ever-learning process. Over the course of my treatment, some of the medicines I was given to help my skin only made it worse. It made my skin very dry and flakey and my pores huge! I needed to take a break from everything to look after myself and my health.”

In the beginning after the diagnosis, Nisha confides that she was very impatient and harsh with her skin. Her confidence was low and she was overusing some of the face products to accelerate the healing of her skin. It made her reconsider her job choice, was draining her physically and mentally as she would have a hormonal breakout or relapse every so often.

Today Nisha is a lot better and has figured out what works and what doesn’t for her.

“It is all about working out, being careful with your diet and eating more fruits and veggies. For example, I found out with a lot of trial and error that milk does not suit me. So, I avoid it now and I have been better since.”

Like a lot of young women her age, Nisha spends a lot of time on Instagram and it is on this platform that she found out about BaseLift products. She did a lot of research about the products that would suit her skin concerns, their ingredients and how to use them. After 3 whole days of wondering whether to make the jump or not, Nisha went for the GlowUp Kit.

“At the time, I was back from holidays in Dubai and the chlorinated water from there had damaged my skin even more. I decided not to try the roller at first and had to gather some courage before I could use it.” She laughs.

“After a week of applying the Retinol Cream, trying the Indian Eraser Clay the week after and the 0.5 Derma Roller on the third week, I noticed a HUGE difference. My damaged skin had recovered and I could not believe it! The BaseLift Serum was the first skincare Serum I ever used, and it was such a positive experience. I love all of the products from the GlowUp Kit. Since I started using them altogether, my pores have shrunk, my face is not constantly oily anymore, my face feels super tight and not baggy. They are my absolute favorite products!”

Nisha has been using BaseLift products for the past 4-5 months. She uses the Serum and Cream every day at daytime, she uses the Indian Eraser Clay twice a week because it is summer where she lives at the moment and her skin can take the intensity of the mask. She uses the 0.5 Derma Roller twice a month and is taking all the necessary measures to stay healthy.

“I have seen improvement in my skin after using BaseLift products after a week only! If you can relate to my story, I want you to know that you should never doubt yourself. Learn about your skin, get to know it, get to know yourself, your health, your diet and be aware that recovery takes time. Healing is not a process with a set end date, have faith and your skin will surely get better.”
