Skin Concerns: Acne | Breakouts | Oily Skin
Favourite Product: Brightening Serum
Morning Routine: Aloe & Rose Toner
Evening Routine: Aloe & Rose Toner and Brightening Serum
Top Tip: "Apply the Brightening Serum onto damp skin. This makes it easier for the Serum to spread and absorb into your skin. Also consider your lifestyle and how that can affect your skin, such as your diet and water intake."
This week, we had the pleasure of speaking to Amina, a 21-year-old pharmacy technician, about her skincare journey. Amina is very active in her spare time and enjoys activities like hikes and visiting the gym. She also loves spending time with her family.
In 2017/18, Amina was diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which caused oily skin and acne. She tried changing her diet and drinking more water.
“At the time I was conscious about how my skin looked. Generally, when you’re in your teenage years, you do feel self-conscious about how you look when you go out in public. I would tend to not go out or try and hide as much as I could. Even though I didn’t like to put makeup over it, sometimes I would to hide it”
Unfortunately, although the diet change did help, it didn’t entirely solve her skin concerns. Amina discovered us through a Before & After transformation post on her Instagram explore page. After her sister won a BaseLift product in March 2020 and saw results, she then bought Amina an Indian Eraser Clay. Since then, Amina was hooked!
“I’m so thankful for what you guys do. I’ve been following BaseLift for a year or so now, and I’ve just seen all of the amazing transformations, it really does make a difference. Some people fall into pages that aren’t helpful, or buy products that are not genuinely for their skin. I can tell people that BaseLift is genuine, and there is proof from me!”
Amina saw changes in her skin within 4-6 weeks of consistent use of the Indian Clay. The bigger results came in just 2-3 months. She believes being patient is necessary; there are no quick fixes when it comes to skincare.
“Patience is definitely key. I wanted to see results straight away, so I had to practice patience to consistently use the products and then see the difference when I continued using them.”
We agree! It is all too easy to give up when you don’t see immediate results, but consistency and patience is a virtue when it comes to long-term skincare health and improvement. Amina also advocates for doing your research before trying anything new.
“Firstly, do your research! You don’t want to be using something that is affecting your skin more. Research before you try anything new, and understand what your skin type is.”
